Some travel experience, managerial experience, internet marketing expertise, or technical skills are important.

Why We Do This

To Support Rural Communities

At Pomelo we value slowing down, understanding culture, being close to nature, and helping others. A driving force for our work is the ability to support the people who run small businesses, non-profits, and other NGOs in the places we love.

Since 2014 we’ve been using a portion of Pomelo Travel’s proceeds to support locally run small businesses in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Indonesia. We also work to fund rural sociological research in Southeast Asia, and help non-profits working with homelessness along the North Shore of Oahu in the U.S.A.

To Help Customers Travel Unconventionally

We live by the notion that travel can – and should – be approached differently. It’s our intention to help our customers get out of their comfort zones, venture far away from the regular tourist trail, and experience life in new and beautiful ways. It takes extra effort in our consumer-driven, comfort-focused, Instagram-frenzied world to travel that way, and we want to help our Pomelo family get there.

We think travel can, at its best, be something that changes the way you think, live, and treat the people around you. We share the flight deals in hopes that our customers’ trips will become meaningful experiences that impact the rest of their lives.
